You are definite...Well, you might be right Harold.

You are definitely right about the political machinery always being retarded, i.e., behind the times.

I mean, you still hear politicians talking about `overpopulation', when in fact the biggest problem will be, in a few decades time, underpopulation (at least of the Occident).RB Glenniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16916044843808043297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5676423713279237243.post-5273231500317620312009-07-15T19:03:32.152-04:002009-07-15T19:03:32.152-04:00R.B.,

With any luck, that inconvenient fact will doom the whole thing.

As to carbon dioxide actually warming things up, I think not. Meteorological records show warming first, then carbon dioxide increases. But even if CO2 precedes warming, human caused amounts could not possibly impact in any serious way the entire atmosphere. One medium volcano will wipe out ALL the so called gains achieved through the draconian limits to be put in place in the cap and trade fiasco. CO2 is only 4 percent of the atmosphere in any case...doubtful that it has much effect either way. Solar activity--duh! is the controlling factor, combined with water vapor--two things we can never control. Besides, the old globe has gotten by pretty well without human meddling.Harold Kildowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02531427515291393878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5676423713279237243.post-45768588116273225962009-07-14T09:35:26.671-04:002009-07-14T09:35:26.671-04:00sorry, `cannot rule out that HC ARE contributing.....sorry, `cannot rule out that HC ARE contributing...'RB Glenniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16916044843808043297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5676423713279237243.post-6886127209311375072009-07-14T09:34:49.192-04:002009-07-14T09:34:49.192-04:00I've watched in despair, over the last number ...I've watched in despair, over the last number of years, as even apparently sane people - like PM Stephan Harper - have fallen into this global warming hysteria.

What is curious is that the hysteria has reached its peak as the global climate itself appears to be cooling off.

This comes from someone who, incidentally, cannot rule out that hydrocarbons are not contributing to an overall warming trend.

It's exactly the hysteria that bugs me, though, precisely because I think there is a statist agenda at work which seeks to firmly crush liberty under the aegis of cap and trade.

And, from the looks of it with the cap and trade programme president Urkel is looking to implement, that the hysterics have paid off...RB Glenniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16916044843808043297noreply@blogger.com
